John Morey was born in 1877, the son of William and Mary Morey.

The 1911 census records that John Morey was a general labourer working for a builder and bird feed specialist and dog biscuit manufacturer. He and his wife Matilda lived at 6 Grange Road, Tongham, and she still lived there after the war.

John Morey’s parents lived at Badshot Lea.
