William Ernest Ives

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission records that William was the son of William Thomas and Ethel Ives of Ash.

William Ernest Ives, date of birth 24 February 1918, attended Ash Walsh School 1923-1932. His family lived in Ash Street and his father was called William.

Mrs Ives wrote to Ash Parish Council regarding the War Memorial from 1 South View Ash Street. William T and Ethel M Ives are recorded as living at 1 South View Ash Street in the May 1945 electoral register.

Jeff Murphy was also on HMS Gloucester.
